about Carolyn
Carolyn Charest is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia and Alberta with almost 15 years of clinical experience in adult mental health, including addictions, eating disorders, family violence, and couples and family counselling. She is also an executive coach who works with leaders navigating anxiety, stress, depression, and periods of change.
What sets Carolyn apart is her combination of clinical training and business leadership experience. As a former Chief Human Resources Officer, she understands both the psychological patterns behind stress and burnout and the real pressures of executive roles, from the inside. Her approach draws on evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused approaches.
Carolyn holds an MBA from the University of Calgary, a Master of Counselling from the University of Lethbridge, and is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, along with CPHR and SHRM SCP designations in HR leadership. She is known for a thoughtful, grounded approach that helps clients feel understood and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
taking the first step
The name Wellflow reflects a core belief that psychological health and peak performance are not competing priorities. They flow from the same source.
Drawing on the foundational work of psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, whose research on optimal human experience demonstrated that deep engagement, clarity of purpose, and meaningful challenge are central to well-being, Wellflow was built on the premise that thriving is not accidental. It is developed intentionally, with the right support, tools, and self-awareness.
Wellflow recognizes that wellbeing looks different for every individual. For some, it means managing the psychological demands of a high-performing career. For others, it means rebuilding after a significant life transition, or simply learning to sustain energy, focus, and fulfillment across the competing demands of work and life. Whatever the starting point, the goal is the same: to support each client in developing the psychological health, resilience, and clarity needed to live and lead with purpose.
This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It is a partnership, grounded in evidence, guided by expertise, and shaped entirely around the person.

Carolyn’s approach is structured, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care. Sessions are focused on helping clients understand patterns and develop skills they can use in their daily lives. Clear tools and strategies tailored to each person are provided, along with optional between session exercises to support practice and integration.
This may include worksheets, reflection prompts, or specific techniques drawn from cognitive-behavioural and solution-focused approaches. The goal is not just insight, but meaningful change, with clients building confidence in applying what they learn in their daily lives.
Her work remains warm, non-judgemental, and collaborative. Clients are supported with empathy, kindness, and at times gentle humour, creating a space that feels both grounded and approachable while still focused on progress.
